However we always love to hear of ideas in how we can improve our community so please feel free to reach out below.

Completed Projects

Bonnyglen

The Dolmen Centre in conjunction with Donegal County Council and Coillte have created a 4.2 km walkway which encircles the beautiful Bonnyglen Lough and Lough Namanlagh.

Changing Places Hoist and

Changing Bench

The Dolmen Centre led the fundraising campaign for a hoist and changing bench, the first in Europe, for the wheelchair accessible toilet at Narin Beach.

Wheelchair Accessible Coastal Walk

The pathway at Portnoo pier has been resurfaced and widened to allow wheelchair users to enjoy the spectacular views overlooking Narin beach and Inishkeel island.

The Homecoming of St. Conall’s Bell & Shrine

In the summer of 2015 the British Museum loaned St Conall’s Bell and Shrine to the Dolmen Centre. Over 1,500 people queued to see the treasures returned home for one day to their place of origin.

Current Projects

Social & Affordable Housing

Narin Portnoo Rosbeg Community Co-Op and Donegal County Council housing section are looking at the current housing needs in the area. They are looking at the demand for social and affordable housing in the area. If such a demand exists from people who would like to avail of such housing, they should register their interests with Donegal County Council by using the link below.

A Long Term Plan

Planning permission has been granted by Donegal County Council for the construction of a 25 x 10m swimming pool with a children’s pool and a two-storey slide adjacent to the Centre. The committee has thus far spent 100k on the project and are actively fund-raising on a continual basis.

Retaining the Skills of our Past

It is proposed that a school to teach the art of thatching be established with the aim of reviving this traditional art.

Green Services

Plans are in the pipeline to install an electric vehicle charging point in the car park.
